Joel Greenhouse earned a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan in 1983. He joined the Department of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University as a post-doctoral fellow, later becoming a professor in 1995. Joel served as Associate Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences for five years.
