Dr. Joel Kostka

Biography

Joel Kostka is a Professor and Associate Chair in the School of Biological Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He obtained his Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of Delaware in 1993. As an expert in the field, his research focuses on microbial ecology and biogeochemistry, contributing significant insights into the interactions among microorganisms in marine environments. His work has implications for understanding nutrient cycling and the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems. Joel is actively involved in various projects that explore the roles of microbial communities in ecosystem processes.
