Biography

Joel Lulla has over 30 years of experience in the sports media industry. He worked with ABC Sports from 1984 to 1991, where he headed the Department of Legal and Business Affairs. In 1991, he became lead counsel at IMG's New York office, gaining extensive experience in negotiating sports media rights. Lulla founded his own consultancy in 1994, providing media consulting and negotiation services for corporate clients, including the Fiesta Bowl, for 18 years. His client base has included major collegiate athletics organizations such as the Big 12 Conference, WAC, Sun Belt, University of Nebraska Athletic Department, University of Texas Athletic Department, and Boise State University. He graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law and was a member of the UNC Law Review. Lulla has served as the chairman of the Committee on Professional Sports Entertainment and the Arts within the Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He has appeared on numerous sports broadcasting panels and has been quoted as a sports media expert in national publications such as New York, ESPN.com, USA, CBS Sports.com, Sports Business Journal, and Sports Business Daily.
