Biography

Joel Rabinovich holds a PhD from Sorbonne Paris Nord and joined the Department of European & International Studies at King’s College London in September 2022. Previously, he lectured on International Political Economy at City, University of London. He has experience as a consultant for the Argentine Ministry of Health and has collaborated with the NGO SOMO, which focuses on multinational corporations' research. His research primarily examines how firms in advanced economies are increasingly engaging with peripheral regions, especially in Latin America. Rabinovich employs an interdisciplinary approach that combines heterodox economics, international political economy, and critical accounting, utilizing primarily quantitative methods based on large datasets. His interests include Corporate Financialization, Global Value Chains, and the roles of Multinational Corporations in peripheral economies, among others. He welcomes applications for PhD topics aligned with his research interests. Rabinovich has an extensive publication record, including articles in notable journals that discuss themes of financialization and its implications for economic structures.
