Biography

Joerg Fliege is a Professor of Operational Research at the University of Southampton, where he leads the largest group of operational researchers in the UK. Having received his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Dortmund in Germany in 1997, Joerg has held visiting positions at several prestigious institutions, including the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Birmingham, where he was awarded an associate professorship in 2004 before moving to Southampton as a full professor in 2007.
