Biography

Joey Ghersi is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the Université de Montréal and affiliated with the Research Center of CHU Sainte-Justine. Originally from Valencia, France, he obtained a doctorate in Genetics and Immunology from the University of Geneva, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University, where he studied the regulation of hematopoietic stem cells by microRNAs. His expertise in developmental biology and hematopoiesis has resulted in several publications in prestigious journals such as Nature Cell Biology and Science. He has also received several awards, including a postdoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association. As a principal investigator, he focuses on the molecular mechanisms that control the differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells and their role in the formation of blood cells and associated diseases.
