Biography

Johan Bergenholtz is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Gothenburg. He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware in 1996 and held postdoctoral positions at BASF in Germany, as well as at the Faculty of Physics at the Universität Konstanz and the Department of Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. He joined the University of Gothenburg in 1999 as an Assistant Professor and became an Associate Professor in 2007. Johan was awarded a Research Fellowship from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2003 and became a Professor of Surface Colloid Science in 2012. He has served as a Guest Professor at Lund University and is an Adjunct Scientist at AstraZeneca R&D in Mölndal. His research interests include the study of polymer-grafted interactions in colloidal systems, thermoresponsive materials, and novel hydrogel formulations. His publications span various aspects of physical chemistry and materials science, elucidating the behavior of colloids and interactions in complex fluids.
