Biography

Johan Padding is a full professor and chair of Complex Fluid Processing in the Department of Process and Energy at Delft University of Technology. He completed his MSc in applied physics and PhD in chemical physics at the University of Twente, where he focused on microscale and mesoscale simulations of soft matter. After his postdoctoral research at institutions including Cambridge University in the UK and the University of Twente, he took a tenure-track position at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2011, where he shifted his research focus towards larger scale multiphase flows. In 2016, he joined Delft University of Technology, where he continues to explore complex fluid processes involving multiphase flows, mesoscale transport phenomena, and related applications in fields such as electrochemical and mechanochemical reactors.
