Biography

Johan Tufte-Kristensen specializes in commercial law, dispute resolution, and private international law. His current research focuses on the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and the application of foreign law in national courts and arbitral tribunals. He teaches and supervises in the fields of private procedural law and has conducted courses in civil procedure, contract law, tort law, law of obligations, property law, and private international law. Alongside his academic work, Johan engages in professional activities closely related to his research. He has represented the Danish government in the UNCITRAL Working Group II, contributing to the Singapore Mediation Convention and the revised UNCITRAL Model Law on Mediation. He chaired the mediation committee at the Danish Institute of Arbitration and currently serves as Chair of the Young Arbitrators Copenhagen and as a member of the ICC Task Force on Corruption in International Arbitration. Johan has experience in legal practice and has been appointed as an arbitrator in commercial disputes. He has been recognized as a 'Future Leader in Arbitration' by Who's Legal for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
