Dr. Johanna Frank

Biography

Johanna Frank, with a B.A. Hons. from Michigan and M.A. and Ph.D. from Indiana, teaches courses focused on dramatic literature, U.S. theatre, feminism, and performance. She has received notable teaching honors, including the University of Windsor Provost's Educational Leadership Award and the Alumni Association's Excellence in Mentoring Award. Dr. Frank has been awarded grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the American Society for Theatre Research, and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, as well as the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Michigan. Her essays have been published in renowned journals such as Modern Drama, Performance Research, and the Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism. She is also actively involved in new play development as a freelance dramaturg and script editor. Her work includes co-authoring several significant articles and serving as an editor for a special issue of Modern Drama dedicated to Adrienne Kennedy.
