Biography

Johanna Goertz joined the Department of Economics at the University of Guelph in 2007. She is an Associate Professor and has specialized in Political Economy, Applied Microeconomics, and Experimental Economics. Her research primarily focuses on information aggregation in large elections and small election committees such as juries, investigating how voters communicate and how voting rules affect the aggregation of information. Her work contributes to the understanding of which voting rules are most effective in facilitating collective decision-making. Goertz has received her Vordiplom in Economics from the University of Bonn, and both her Master's and PhD in Economics from Ohio State University.
