Biography

Johannes Boegershausen obtained his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of British Columbia, Canada. He later worked as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Amsterdam before joining the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam, in September 2020 as an Associate Professor of Marketing. His research explores topics such as marketplace morality, polarized sentiments, stigma, well-being, and the social-cognitive perspective. He also develops methodological frameworks and tools aimed at enhancing the quality of social science research, particularly through online methods and web scraping simulation software. His research has been published in prominent journals including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and the International Journal of Research in Marketing. Johannes has also received grants from various organizations, including the Marketing Science Institute and Standards Canada. At RSM, he teaches courses such as the undergraduate minor 'Art of Choosing: Making Choices to Maximize Happiness' and the M.Sc. elective 'Brand Development.'
