Dr. Johannes Hofmann

Biography

Johannes Hofmann is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg with a strong research focus on condensed matter physics and statistical physics. He earned his Diplom-Physiker degree from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, followed by a Master of Advanced Study in Mathematics and a PhD from the University of Cambridge's St. John's College. His prior academic appointments include a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Maryland and a research fellowship at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge. Hofmann also has experience as a lecturer and director of studies in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, University of Cambridge. His work encompasses various aspects of condensed matter theory, Fermi liquid theory, and quantum gases, illustrated by numerous publications in esteemed journals such as Physical Review Letters and Scientific Reports. He is actively involved in mentoring PhD students particularly in the areas of statistical physics and condensed matter theory.
