Dr. Johannes Levin

Biography

Johannes Levin is a full professor at the Neurological Clinic and Polyclinic of the LMU Klinikum, specializing in clinical neurodegeneration. He leads outpatient clinics for Cognitive Neurology and Movement Disorders. His clinical expertise includes Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Neurocritical care. Levin’s scientific focus encompasses synucleinopathies related to Parkinson’s disease and Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), tauopathies such as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Syndrome (CBS), as well as genetic forms of Alzheimer’s disease. He actively contributes to developing disease-modifying therapies and has published extensively on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Levin has participated in several clinical trials on pharmacokinetics and safety of treatments. He is involved in international research networks aimed at early diagnosis and improved management of neurodegenerative disorders.
