Dr. Johannes Schmidt

Biography

Johannes Dragsbæk Schmidt is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University focusing on Development and International Relations. He holds a PhD in Political Science, with a specialty in the areas of work and labor markets, employers' organizations, and the complex socio-economic dynamics in East and Southeast Asia. With extensive experience in academia and research, Johannes has participated in numerous projects, examining themes such as globalization, international politics, migration, and social welfare policies. He holds a senior research associate position at the Global Policy Institute and has served as a senior expert at the Nordic Institute of Asian Studies. His research interests encompass a wide range of topics including business economics, state regulation, urban development, and the historical and contemporary challenges faced by the region. He has a strong commitment to advancing understanding in these areas through both teaching and research, evidenced by his multiple publications in respected journals and participation in significant conferences around the globe. Johannes continues to contribute to the academic community through editorial work and peer review for various prestigious journals.
