Biography

Johannes Ulrich Wittig is a Medical Doctor currently pursuing a PhD in Resuscitation Science. His research interests primarily lie in emergency medicine and acute critical care, with a particular focus on cardiac arrest, ventilation strategies, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). He has a background in paramedicine and is affiliated with the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University and the Department of Medicine at Randers Regional Hospital. Wittig is also a co-lead of the Resuscitation Science Masterclass and serves on the Young European Resuscitation Council Committee. His roles include research, education, and co-supervision of students as part of his position as a PhD fellow. He is the lead investigator of the VENT-IHCA study, which is a prospective, multicenter observational study investigating the quality of ventilation during CPR in hospitalized adult patients. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with multiple awards for his research presentations in resuscitation science.
