Dr. John Allison

Biography

John Allison is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Engineering at the University of Michigan. He holds the William F. Hosford Professorship in Materials Science Engineering and is a key member of the PRISMS Center. He focuses on the understanding of inter-relationships in processing, alloying, and microstructure-properties of metallic materials. His research emphasizes the integration of computational tools in developing methodologies that enhance the education and research in engineering. With a Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s degree from Ohio State University, Professor Allison has extensive knowledge and experience in metallic materials research and education.
