Dr. John Armbrecht

Biography

John Armbrecht is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg, specializing in cultural tourism, cultural management, and cultural economics. He holds a PhD from the same institution, focusing on the value of cultural institutions, which he published in his thesis in 2012. His research primarily explores the economic impact of cultural institutions and employs methods such as cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the welfare contribution of these entities. John is currently involved in several research projects that investigate the valuation and welfare aspects of events within tourism and culture, with recent publications addressing marine aquaculture and its cultural implications. In addition to his research, John teaches methodological and marketing aspects of tourism at the master's level, including event management and multivariate data analysis courses.
