Dr. John Beck

Biography

John P. Beck is an Associate Professor Emeritus at the School of Human Resources and Labor Relations at Michigan State University. He previously served as the Associate Director of the School, where he was primarily in charge of the School's outreach units, including the Labor Education Program and Union Management Initiatives. He co-directs a project entitled 'Building Mutual Expectations Resolving Conflicts in Graduate Education,' which employs interest-based conflict resolution approaches involving graduate students and faculty mentors. John holds degrees from Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, where he worked for five years as staff at the University of Michigan Labor Studies Center. His teaching experience includes labor studies at the community college level in Oklahoma and history education courses at the university level.
