Biography

John Clark is a Midwest-based designer and educator specializing in spatial design, object design, fabrication, project management, planning, computation, photography, and design research. He teaches design fabrication courses at the University of Illinois' Department of Landscape Architecture and has also taught at the AIADO (Architecture, Interior Architecture, Designed Objects) program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois-Chicago. His professional experience includes working with international Chicago-based teams on large-scale master planning, creative consultancy, and hands-on design/build architecture, including the manufacturing of custom furniture and art products. Clark is passionate about process teaching, focusing on instilling a love for contemporary 3D literacy and encouraging curious and creative thinking among beginning students.
