Dr. John Connor

Biography

John H. Connor is a professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Virology, Immunology, and Microbiology. He has received his PhD from Duke University and his BA from Swarthmore College. Connor's research focuses on laboratory studies of virus-host interactions and employs a variety of approaches including genetic systems biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. His work investigates how viruses manipulate cellular protein synthesis and how host cells respond to viral infections, specifically targeting viruses that cause hemorrhagic fever. He serves as a principal investigator on multiple research projects funded by prestigious institutes, alongside mentoring graduate students in the Bioinformatics Graduate Program and Graduate Medical Sciences at Boston University.
