Biography

John E. Donahue received his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1992. He trained in neurology at Tufts-New England Medical Center and neuropathology at Rhode Island Hospital. After spending four years at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute as Director of Neuropathology, he returned to Rhode Island Hospital/Brown Medical School in 2003, where he practices clinical neuropathology and pursues academic research and teaching. Donahue has been the co-director of the Brain Sciences course at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University since 2008 and became the director of the neuropathology fellowship program in 2019. His prior academic appointments include Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Seton Hall University. Throughout his career, he has received multiple Dean’s Teaching Excellence Awards for outstanding teaching in various pathology courses at Brown Medical School, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in medical education. He is also associated with prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuropathologists.
