Biography

John Finch is a Professor of Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School and has served as Head of the School from January 2016 to July 2023, leading the School through significant development and growth. He is currently the Associate Dean for East Asia at the University of Glasgow's College of Social Sciences. John is the lead investigator for the Innovate-UK funded Financial Regulation Innovation Lab project, in partnership with FinTech Scotland and the University of Strathclyde. His research interests include market studies, applied science, and technology studies, focusing on the impacts of regulation on economic exchanges. John joined the Adam Smith Business School in October 2012 as a Professor of Marketing, having previously served as a Professor at the University of Strathclyde. He began his academic career as a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Aberdeen and completed his PhD at Lancaster University Management School. John is a member of the Marketing research cluster, with expertise in business-to-business marketing, product service development, and economic sociology related to market regulation and sustainability.
