Professor John French has been the Director of Cardiovascular Research since 2004 and served as the director of the Coronary Care Unit at the Cardiology Department of Liverpool Hospital from 2007 to 2011. His research interests focus on acute coronary syndromes, particularly ST elevation myocardial infarction, cardiac biomarkers, and the relationship between diabetes and coronary heart disease.
