Biography

John Golden holds the Edward S. Knight Chair in Law, Entrepreneurialism, and Innovation at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. His academic focus includes administrative law, contracts, patent law, and intellectual property, along with seminars on disaster emergency law and innovation. He served as the faculty director of the Andrew Ben White Center for Law, Science, and Social Policy from 2011 to 2022. Golden earned his J.D. and Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard University, and an A.B. in Physics History from Harvard College. Before his academic career, he clerked for the Honorable Michael Boudin on the U.S. Court of Appeals and Associate Justice Stephen Breyer at the U.S. Supreme Court.
