Dr. John Goyder

Biography

John Goyder is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology and Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo, with a Ph.D. in Sociology from McMaster University. His research interests focus on social science methodology, social inequality, technology, social change, and social identity. Goyder has taught various courses, including SOC 697 on social science methodology and several undergraduate and graduate courses addressing contemporary issues in social inequality and the impacts of technology on society. His published works include analyses of occupational prestige in Canada, the significance of nonrespondents in survey research, and a broader examination of the relationship between technology and society from a Canadian perspective. Throughout his career, Goyder has made significant contributions to the field of sociology, particularly in understanding and addressing the complexities of social structures and their transformations over time.
