Biography

John Haglund is an Instructional Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, completed in 2003. Prior to that, he earned his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2000, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University in 1995. His research encompasses a variety of fields including assessment methodologies in engineering education, aerosol sampling, and measurement techniques for particulate matter. He is particularly focused on bioaerosol collection and the concentration and measurement of aerosols such as PM10 and PM2.5. John has received several awards recognizing his contributions to teaching, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Teacher Award in 2016 and the Faculty Appreciation Award from the Cockrell School of Engineering and Student Engineering Council at the University of Texas at Austin in 2012 and 2013.
