Biography

John Hallett is a Clinical Senior Research Fellow at the Wolfson Wohl Cancer Research Centre within the School of Cancer Sciences, and an honorary consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. He trained in academic paediatric surgery and regenerative medicine across the UK, including in Edinburgh, London, and Southampton. His main research focus is on investigating the causes of congenital biliary liver disease and identifying potential therapeutic targets through regenerative medicine approaches. Throughout his academic career, he has received various grants and awards while working at the University of Glasgow, including funding from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Endowment Funds aimed at developing novel in vivo models for Biliary atresia.
