Biography

John Hamerink graduated from the University of Michigan in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Science. He went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Basic Medical Sciences from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Hamerink attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and graduated in 2010 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Raised in Plymouth, Michigan, Hamerink now practices in his hometown and has experience working in dental clinics for the Michigan Department of Corrections. He joined the University of Michigan School of Dentistry faculty in 2010, where he lectures dental students and serves as the Director of the Pathways Curriculum. Hamerink is dedicated to mentorship, guiding dental students and being involved with the Delta Sigma Delta professional dental fraternity. His interests include surgical and community dentistry, personalized patient care, and continuing education in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is active in organized dentistry as a member of the District Dental Society and the Michigan Dental Association. Beyond dentistry, Hamerink is involved in the Plymouth community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Plymouth Rotary Club and sponsoring local children's sports teams. In his personal life, he enjoys engaging in outdoor activities, playing soccer, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
