Biography

John Hanlon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. He specializes in anesthesia and pain medicine and is known for his work in designing and developing a new FRCPC Pain Medicine sub-specialty residency program at the University. His research interests include managing acute and chronic post-surgical pain, medical education, and the role of ultrasonography in pain medicine. Hanlon has also served as the outgoing chair of the Chronic Pain section of the Canadian Anesthesiologists Society and as the Canadian section chair for the World Academy of Pain Medicine Ultrasonographers.
