John L. Hennessy is a computer scientist who served as the tenth president of Stanford University from 2000 to 2016. He is the Shriram Family Director of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program, the largest fully endowed graduate-level scholarship program in the world. Hennessy co-founded MIPS Computer Systems and Atheros Communications.
