Biography

John F. Hollway is a national leader in criminal justice reform and serves as the Senior Advisor at the Quattrone Center for Fair Administration of Justice and Senior Fellow at the Penn Positive Psychology Center. He has previously served as the Executive Director of the Center, guiding it to become a recognized authority in root cause analysis and systems-based approaches within criminal justice. Hollway's work primarily focuses on helping organizations turn adverse events into opportunities for learning, accountability, and continuous improvement within the justice system. As a trusted consultant, he advises criminal justice agencies and policymakers on performance measurement, error prevention, and organizational learning. His influential publications include 'Conviction Review Units: National Perspective' (2016) and 'Systems Approach Preventing Errors Criminal Justice' (2014), with notable recognition including the National Independent Book Award for Non-Fiction.
