Biography

John Ivy received his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Maryland and completed post-doctoral training in physiology and metabolism at Washington University School of Medicine as a National Institutes of Health fellow. He served as a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin for over 31 years, including 13 years as Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. Dr. Ivy is a distinguished author of more than 190 scientific papers, numerous book chapters, and four influential books on sports nutrition, including 'Nutrient Timing' and 'Future Sports Nutrition,' which have been translated into four languages. His work primarily investigates the effects of exercise and nutrition on muscle glucose transport and insulin resistance, aiming to prevent Type 2 diabetes and other metabolic diseases.
