Dr. John Jacobi

Biography

John Jacobi is a Visiting Professor at Yale Law School specializing in law and policy related to health and disability. He holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from State University College Buffalo. His professional background includes serving as the Dorothea Dix Professor of Health Law & Policy at Seton Hall Law School, where he also directed the Health Law Policy Program. Prior to his academic career, Jacobi was senior associate counsel to the Governor of New Jersey, where he provided counsel on health, human services, child welfare, and insurance matters. In recognition of his contributions to the field, he received the Elyn R. Saks Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Association of Law Schools in 2021. His work focuses on various aspects of law affecting individuals with mental disabilities, contributing significantly to ongoing discussions and policy developments in these areas.
