Biography

John Koski is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School, where he teaches professional responsibilities relevant to representing business organizations. He has over 30 years of experience in the legal field, including a 19-year tenure at Dentons, the world's largest global law firm, where he served as General Counsel and Global Chief Legal Officer. In this role, he addressed the legal needs of approximately 13,000 lawyers and business professionals across 160+ locations in more than 80 countries. His responsibilities included governance, structure, litigation, transactions, insurance, regulation, compliance, and ethical matters. John chaired the Global Risk Management Committee and was a member of the Global Management Committee, interacting with the Global Board to ensure proper legal compliance and risk management strategies. As an active member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers and the American Bar Association’s Center for Professional Responsibility, he has founded peer groups for law firm general counsels and has hosted more than 100 accredited lectures and seminars focused on legal ethics, risk, and professionalism. John also serves on the board of Lawyers Defending American Democracy, emphasizing the importance of legal ethics and democratic principles.
