Biography

Dr. Krzeczkowski’s research investigates the foundations of emotional and cognitive development in infants and children, examining how early interventions can optimize brain development. His research program bridges theory and application, spanning numerous disciplines including developmental psychology, social development, interpersonal interactions, neuroscience, and intervention science. The overall goal of his research is to understand how to harness the immense plasticity of the developing brain to prevent mental disorders and optimize health for families in Canada. He focuses on emotion regulation in infants and children, investigating the neurophysiological synchrony between parent-infant pairs. Additionally, his work examines the impact of modifiable risk factors, such as parental mood disorders and prenatal diet and exercise behaviors, on the development of emotion regulation in infants and children. Dr. Krzeczkowski is currently accepting applications for graduate students in his program.
