Biography

John Kveton, M.D. is an internationally recognized neurotologist who has practiced in Connecticut since 1989. He joined the Section of Otolaryngology at Yale University School of Medicine and received his M.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1978. He completed his surgical internship and otolaryngology residency at Yale New Haven Medical Center, and worked as a neurotology fellow under Michael Glasscock, M.D. from 1982 to 1983. Previously, Dr. Kveton was a faculty member at St. Louis University School of Medicine, where he performed the first cochlear implant in St. Louis in 1984 and founded their cochlear implant program. After returning to Yale in 1989, Dr. Kveton became a full-time faculty member, later receiving the title of Professor of Surgery/Otolaryngology and Professor of Neurosurgery in 2002. His research interests include hydroxyapatite cement in skull base surgery, and he has published over 100 original articles, serving as a reviewer for journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Kveton is recognized as a leading figure in the field of otolaryngology with numerous professional appointments, and he has been frequently invited as a national lecturer.
