Biography

John Labbadia obtained his PhD from King's College London between 2007 and 2011, following which he completed his postdoctoral training at Northwestern University in the USA from 2012 to 2017. In 2017, he moved to the Institute of Healthy Ageing at University College London, where he established his own laboratory with the support of a BBSRC David Phillips Fellowship. His research group currently focuses on using the small nematode worm Caenorhabditis elegans to understand how proteome integrity declines with age. By addressing this question, he hopes to identify the molecular processes that are targeted in order to promote healthy ageing in humans.
