Dr. John Lewin

Biography

John Lewin, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in breast cancer radiotherapy. He provides comprehensive care in breast imaging and mammography, aiding in the early detection and management of breast cancer. Dr. Lewin's research focuses on improving breast cancer screening and diagnosis, with notable achievements including pioneering clinical trials in digital mammography and the demonstration of dual-energy contrast-enhanced mammography. He completed his medical training at Harvard Medical School and pursued his residency and fellowship in breast imaging at the University of Colorado. He served in national radiology organizations, including as Vice President of the Society of Breast Imaging from 2022-2025. His work aims to enhance methodologies in breast cancer detection and is widely recognized in the field.
