Biography

John Alexander Marenbon is a Fellow of the British Academy and a Senior Research Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge. He holds the position of Honorary Professor of Medieval Philosophy at the University of Cambridge (UK). His research interests cover the entire breadth of philosophy during the Long Middle Ages, from approximately 200 to 1700, encompassing Latin, Greek, Christian, Islamic, and Jewish traditions. He leads the project 'Immateriality, Thinking Self Philosophy Long Middle Ages', a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Cambridge and the Department of Philosophy at Peking University, which is financed by the British Academy International Partnership Mobility Grant from March 2015 to February 2016.
