Biography

John McClendon III is a professor in the Department of Philosophy at Michigan State University. His research primarily focuses on African American philosophical traditions, including African philosophy, Marxism, and the philosophy of sports, particularly as it pertains to the African American experience. He is the author of "C. L. R. James’s Notes Dialectics: Left-Hegelianism Marxism-Leninism" published by Lexington Books in 2005, and co-authored the book "White Shadow: Philosophy, Sports, African-American Experience" with Dr. Stephen C.
