Biography

John R. McIntyre is the founding director of the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and a professor in the management area specializing in strategy. He holds a courtesy appointment in international relations at Georgia Tech’s Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. McIntyre completed his doctoral education at the University of Georgia after obtaining his graduate education from Northeastern University. Before joining Georgia Tech in September 1981, he was a research associate in international management at the Dean Rusk Center of the University of Georgia Law School. He has published extensively in various academic journals including Technology Society, Public Administration Quarterly, and International Management Review, among others. McIntyre has authored and co-authored several books exploring topics such as business-government relations and international technology transfer. His professional memberships feature organizations such as Sigma Xi and the Academy of International Business. He has been recognized with the State of Georgia Governor’s 2009 International Award for his contributions to international business education, and he is noted for his expertise in the primary aluminum industry. Additionally, McIntyre is fluent in French, Italian, and Spanish.
