Dr. John Meligrana

Biography

John Meligrana is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Planning at Queen's University, specializing in legal governmental processes, environmental planning, and computer-aided design. He has taught at various institutions including California State University, Bishop's University, Simon Fraser University, and the University of British Columbia. With extensive experience as a planning consultant, John has engaged in numerous projects for public and private clients. His research focuses on local government reform, particularly the challenges faced by local institutions in responding to urban growth and development, especially in the rural-urban fringe. He has contributed to publications on environmental planning and urban studies, with works appearing in journals such as Nature and Urban Studies. Additionally, John is involved in student exchange programs with Fudan University in Shanghai, enhancing collaboration in urban planning and environmental management.
