Dr. John Murray

Biography

John D. Murray is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine. He completed his PhD in Physics at Yale University in 2013 and holds a BS in Physics and Mathematics from the same institution, graduated in 2006. He has conducted postdoctoral research at the New York University Center for Neural Science and has been a primary faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale since 2015. His research interests include computational neuroscience and computational psychiatry, focusing on topics such as cognition, decision-making, functional neuroimaging, and short-term memory. Murray is also involved in interdisciplinary initiatives, collaborating across various departments and contributing to projects that bridge neuroscience with computational methods. He has authored numerous publications, reflecting his contributions to the field of psychiatry and neuroscience. His lab plays a vital role in understanding the neurocognitive processes underlying mental health disorders like schizophrenia.
