Biography

John Martin Pedersen is a Living Lab Coordinator and Administrative Officer at the University of Southern Denmark. His current work focuses on the LIFT project, which aims to unite researchers, farmers, environmental organizations, and policy makers to transform food systems. His research interests encompass food systems, agricultural policy and politics, green transitions, and multispecies commons, approached through a multidisciplinary lens. Pedersen's academic background includes a unique transdisciplinary education where he explored the intersections of computer science, history, law, philosophy, and sociology. He has actively engaged in social environmental movements, creating documentaries that highlight significant issues, such as migration policies and social movements. His doctoral research (2003-2010) examined property relations within social movements, particularly focusing on the hacker and Free Software movements. Currently, he further investigates concepts such as commoning and agroecology within the framework of planetary health.
