Dr. John Quelch

Biography

John Quelch is the Executive Vice Chancellor at Duke Kunshan University and the John deButts Professor of Practice at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He has recently served as the Leonard M. Miller University Chair and Vice Provost at the University of Miami, and as Dean of the Miami Herbert Business School. Previously, he was the Charles Edward Wilson Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and a Professor of Health Policy and Management at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. With substantial experience as a non-executive director, he has served on the boards of several major companies. His advising experience includes working with startup companies in the fintech and edtech sectors. Quelch has also held significant leadership roles across various business schools globally and has authored and co-authored numerous publications, focusing on corporate strategy, global branding, and consumer behavior. His notable books include 'Choice Matters: Healthcare Consumers Make Decisions' and 'Business Local: Place Matters More Than Ever in a Global, Virtual World'. As a distinguished academic, he holds degrees from Oxford University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard University, and has received honors such as being appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to British business.
