Biography

John R. Reynolds is a Professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology, with a focus on polymer chemistry. He has over 40 years of research experience in the development of new polymer materials and their optoelectronic properties. His work includes the study of electrically conducting electroactive conjugated polymers and the development of polyheterocycles for applications in electrochromism and light-emitting devices. He has published over 450 peer-reviewed articles and holds approximately 45 issued patents and around 10 patents pending. Reynolds is the founding Director of the Georgia Tech Polymer Network and a member of the Center for Organic Photonics and Electronics (COPE). He has significantly contributed to the fields of organic materials chemistry and bio-electronic devices, including supercapacitors and photovoltaic cells. His research has earned him several prestigious awards, including the American Chemical Society Cope Scholar Award in 2020 and the Florida Award in 2019. He has served on the editorial boards of various scientific journals.
