I have a passion for teaching philosophy and believe it plays a crucial role in personal fulfillment. My academic focus has been on the rigorous study of significant philosophical texts from the tradition. With over 25 years in the field, I have taught a wide range of courses, primarily at the graduate and undergraduate levels, emphasizing ancient philosophy and 19th and 20th-century European thought. I have effectively supervised graduate students for two decades, contributing to 25 doctoral dissertations and 25 master's theses, covering influential figures like Plato, Hegel, and Heidegger. Many of my students have gone on to become university professors, and I am keen to support serious, independent scholars in my areas of expertise. My published works explore issues such as personal identity and the nature of everyday meaningful experiences, with an emphasis on phenomenology and contemporary European philosophy. My recent books including 'Human Experience,' 'Bearing Witness Epiphany,' and 'Infinite Phenomenology' demonstrate my ongoing contribution to philosophical discourse, alongside numerous articles. Additionally, I direct the Toronto Summer Seminar in Philosophy and have organized workshops internationally. My hobbies include playing jazz guitar.
