Biography

John Symanski is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology affiliated with Washington University in St. Louis, followed by a Musculoskeletal Fellowship at New York University. Prior to joining UW–Madison, he returned to the Medical College of Wisconsin, his alma mater, where he served as the musculoskeletal fellowship director. His professional interests focus on 3D educational models and nerve procedures in musculoskeletal ultrasound. He also contributes to the field as a volunteer reviewer for the American Board of Radiology's Musculoskeletal Core Committee and publications such as Skeletal Radiology and RadioGraphics. Outside of academics, he enjoys fitness activities, spending time with his children, scuba diving, and supporting local sports teams like the Brewers, Badgers, Bucks, and Packers.
