Biography

John Thanassoulis is a Professor of Financial Economics at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. He has served as a Panel Member for the UK Competition Markets Authority since October 2017 and was previously Associate Dean for Executive Education at WBS. John is a CEPR Research Fellow and has held the position of Non-Executive Director at Oxford Investment Partners from 2004 to 2013. Before that, he was a Tenured University Lecturer (equivalent to Associate Professor) in the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford, where he was also a Fellow in Economics at Christ Church. His research interests include Pricing Strategy and Employee Incentives. At Warwick Business School, John leads the academic efforts on a strategic partnership with the Bank of England and is a member of the Senior Management Group, which constitutes the WBS Executive Board. He has an educational background from Oxford and Cambridge, where he studied Mathematics followed by Economics. Additionally, John is an Associate Member of the Oxford-Man Institute and Nuffield College at the University of Oxford, and he serves as Treasurer for the Blackfriars Overseas Aid Trust, a registered charity.
